About Beaumond House Hospice

About the charity …..

Beaumond House Community Hospice is a registered charity which provides eleven different services, including in-patient care, day service, Hospice at Home, bereavement counselling, benefits advice and a Resource and Information Centre.  It is committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients with life limiting or terminal illnesses and their families living in Newark and district, since 1987. Beaumond House operates over an approximate radius of 15 miles from Newark. The area it therefore encompasses includes: Tuxford, Bilsthorpe, Ollerton, Sutton-on-Trent, Thorpe-on-the-Hill, Leadenham, Caythorpe, Long Bennington, Bottesford, Bingham, Lowdham, Southwell, Collingham and Bassingham.
Each year the hospice provides care to over 500 patients and support to their families, caring for around 150 patients at any one time.
Beaumond House offers personalised, compassionate support where patients’ wishes are respected and delivered and where family members can be with loved ones in an entirely private setting. They also recognise that many people wish to stay at home to receive support.  Their Hospice@Home team takes the Beaumond House approach into patients’ homes, offering expert care, sitting, advice and support.
All care is provided at no cost to the patient or their family and anyone can make a referral to Beaumond House, their doors are open 365 days a year and 24 hours day.
Beaumond House Community Hospice, as with all community hospices, is a worthy cause  and an invaluable asset to the community.  As it is a local charity, it relies on the support of local people and businesses to raise, through local fund raising, £750,000 of the £1 million per year it needs to deliver its services. Local support is vital for this essential resource to continue providing its services.
